World No. 14 Carla Suarez Navarro (pic) hopes to start afresh when she makes her debut.
The 28-year-old Spaniard has been troubled by a right shoulder injury, making only one appearance so far this season at last month's Australian Open. She failed to make an impression, losing in the second round. Suarez Navarro also withdrew from the warm-up tournaments in Brisbane and Sydney prior to the Australian Open. She also pulled out of her title defence at the just-concluded Qatar Open in Doha. "It has been tough for me dealing with the shoulder injury so early in the season. I am still working on the recovery/' said Suarez Navarro on her Facebook account. "However. I have been practising through my rehab to get back stronger," added the two-time WTA Tour winner. Suarez Navarro was supposed to play in the Malaysian Open in 2015 but withdrew at the eleventh hour due to injury. She has made 10 career finals since turning professional in 2003. She achieved her career-high ranking of world No. 6 in February last year after winning the Qatar Open
